Great list of books! Here are some that have made me cry: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Les Miserables, The God of Small Things, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, The Namesake... boo hoo, I'm a big bawlbaby over books! :)

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

Lisa

Harry Potter, several of them actually.

Bridge to Terabithia

Love Story

Lots of romances made me cry, but the only one I can think of now is Dreaming of You by Kleypas.

Naeva - Inspiring Parenting

Oh yes, Kite Runner made me cry, too.

Great list!

Bridge to Terabithia is the only book I can remember that ever made me cry and that was in 3rd grade.

I don't know why, but, The Time Travelers Wife, bugged me. I can't put my finger on the reason. I guess I didn't like the lottery win thing. Seemed so manipulative, on so many levels. I know a lot of people adored that book.

Jennifer

You have good taste in books!

I'm working on The Time Traveler's Wife now, but I'm only about half done, so it hasn't made me cry yet. I've spent a good part of the book so far trying to wrap my mind around the time travel aspect.

I loved The Kite Runner. It's the kind of book that haunts you long after you've finished it, isn't it?

I did a bookish 13 this week too.

Aimee

Bridge to Terabithia, Charlotte's Web, Walk Two Moons--I read a lot of kids' novels because of my field, but some of them pack an emotional punch sometimes:)

Thanks for the recommendations! Every now and then a woman needs a good cry.

First book to make me cry: A Child Called It

Most recent book to make me cry: There Is No Me Without You

Daisy Dexter Dobbs

Wonderful TT list. My daughter keeps telling me I have to read The Time Traveler's Wife. I've heard so much about it (both negative and positive) that I'm really curious now.

I adore Jude Deveraux's time travels. In fact, well-written time travel romances almost always make me cry.

Robin

The Outsiders was huge for me growing up. Did you read Rumble Fish too?

Suzi

Magic's Price got me too.

Nicholas Sparks:
Message in a Bottle
The Notebook

Nicholas Evans
The Horse Whisperer

Stone Girl

#2 almost made me cry. I love all things Sandman! Great to see that on your list. Also made me cry - Ashes in the Wind - Kathleen Woodiwiss. And Sword of Shannara - Terry Brooks. And of course, Where the Red Fern Grows.

Mel

Journeywoman--you already read the book so join the book tour :-) http://stirrup-queens.blogspot.com/2007/03/marching-with-barren-bitches-book.html

The discussion is taking place soon. Let me know if you want to join so I can add you to the list.

Books that have made me cry. Too many. But two that made me cry to the point where I couldn't breathe recently: The Confessions of Max Tivoli by Greer and Never Let Me Go by Ishiguro. Ooooh...I'm getting choked up thinking about them.

P.S. I sobbed at Time Traveler's Wife too.

I loved the Outsiders. It still makes me cry

Michelle

Ohhhh, the Outsiders. I loved, loved, loved, loved that book. I had forgotten about it. I must read it again. I have just started Time Traveller, and Kite Runner is on my nightstand to be read next. I love books. My husband does too(He teaches college English) We need a bigger apartment.

Michelle

I swear I didn't mean to type that many "loved's". I am very tired. :)

Tuesday's With Morrie

And

Where the Red Fern Grows

Many others made me cry but those I remember always.

Nicole

There we a couple on there I have not read. I will make a note of them and pick them up. Thanks!

lisa

Tuesday's with Morrie and Old Yellar are on my list.
