I've done TV shows, now I'm doing books.
Thirteen Books That Made Me Cry
1) The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton This was the first book that ever made me cry.
2) The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenger This was the most recent book to make me cry. From the detailed description of someone suffering through infertility to the bewildering ending.
3) Fragments of Isabella by Isabella Leitner This magnificent memoir of the holocaust is more searing than Anne Frank's diary. Read it if you can, but bring tissues.
4) Sandman: Brief Lives by Neil Gaiman Some of this was crying from laughter, some from tears. My favorite of the series.
5) Phantom by Susan Kay What happened before the events in The Phantom of the Opera. Fiction doesn't get much better than this. You will look up and wonder where you are since you were in this book. Not to mention romance and murder and a truly unforgettable character.
6) Outlander by Diana GabaldonI love this book. The series seems to have lost the thread in the later books, but this book...well, if my house catches fire, this book comes with me when I run.
7) Hot Six by Janet Evanovich NEVER laughed so hard at any other book. People on the train were moving away from the crazy lady.
8) A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux One of those romances that will just make you sigh and tear up. A Perfect perfectly happy ending.
9) Elfquest - Kings of the Broken Wheel"Better to sleep and know nothing, than wake one more day without you." I liked graphic novels and comics before they were cool! If you've never read this series, pick it up, it's a wonderful world.
10) The Kite Runner by Khaled HosseiniAlso a recent addition. I resisted reading this book for so long and then I realized that sometimes when "everyone" is raving about a book--they might be right.
11) Poems by Maya Angelou I love And Still I Rise.
12) The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara Ignore the stuff his son has written, this is a historical novel that really comes alive.
13) Magic's Price by Mercedes Lackey I sob every time I reread this. "I told you when I chose you that I would never leave you."
What books have made you cry?
Great list of books! Here are some that have made me cry: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Les Miserables, The God of Small Things, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, The Namesake... boo hoo, I'm a big bawlbaby over books! :)
Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

Bridge to Terabithia is the only book I can remember that ever made me cry and that was in 3rd grade.

I don't know why, but, The Time Travelers Wife, bugged me. I can't put my finger on the reason. I guess I didn't like the lottery win thing. Seemed so manipulative, on so many levels. I know a lot of people adored that book.

You have good taste in books!
I'm working on The Time Traveler's Wife now, but I'm only about half done, so it hasn't made me cry yet. I've spent a good part of the book so far trying to wrap my mind around the time travel aspect.
I loved The Kite Runner. It's the kind of book that haunts you long after you've finished it, isn't it?
I did a bookish 13 this week too.

Bridge to Terabithia, Charlotte's Web, Walk Two Moons--I read a lot of kids' novels because of my field, but some of them pack an emotional punch sometimes:)

Wonderful TT list. My daughter keeps telling me I have to read The Time Traveler's Wife. I've heard so much about it (both negative and positive) that I'm really curious now.
I adore Jude Deveraux's time travels. In fact, well-written time travel romances almost always make me cry.

The discussion is taking place soon. Let me know if you want to join so I can add you to the list.
Books that have made me cry. Too many. But two that made me cry to the point where I couldn't breathe recently: The Confessions of Max Tivoli by Greer and Never Let Me Go by Ishiguro. Ooooh...I'm getting choked up thinking about them.
P.S. I sobbed at Time Traveler's Wife too.
