I stopped reading LKH after OB, but wow, I wish I coulg say I wasn't surprised by what you've written above. Shocking, but not surprising.

(also, I hate Richard)

OMG-you are my hero. Oh, how I wish my blog was anonymous(and my family didn't read!) I think my Dad might have a heart attack if he read on my blog what you just wrote about your sex life!(Not to mention my 86 year old uncle, who also reads).

And safewords are a must and not to be taken lightly :)

Also, I MUST pick up a couple of books from this author!

whatever keeps it interesting! you're right -- it's called a "safe" word for a reason. why don't you write to the author?

hey, my hub and I have our 12th on june 30 -- when's your anniv?

This is one of the reasons why I HATE Laurell K. Hamilton now. She takes no responsibility for her writing and it is completely self-fantasized fluff. She's writing bad porn rather than owning up to the fact that she's a fucking bestselling author who has a responsibility to her craft to churn out quality writing. She's turned into a total hack and not in the good way (see Lilith Saintcrow's blog for what I mean by a "good hack").

I couldn't make it through one of Hamilton's books because I didn't like the way she wrote about sex. None of it seemed healthy. Franky, I don't think she's a very good writer.

Hey there. I'm a long time reader and I just wanted to let you know that while I absolutely have no issue with you talking about this part of your life - I'd be really nervous about posting this kind of personal information while you're in line for an adoption. Unfortunately, I know of more than one person who has been burned by nosy parkers who think that they know what makes a "decent" mother and have found ways to report this sort of non-mainstream blog stuff to adoption agencies etc. - and though it shouldn't make a difference - it sometimes does.

Maybe you've already thought about this - and if that's the case - sorry to have been my own kind of nosy parker, but I just wanted to give you a little head's up. I really do enjoy your blogging.

I quit reading LKH after "Micah," because it was just so bad. What happened to the good stuff from her earlier novels?

I read erotica that goes way beyond some of the boundaries of normalcy, so it wasn't the sexual aspect of the books that declined for me. It was the mere fact that the writing really began to suck. Hard.

I think she should realize that it's time to quit or re-evaluate
