The duds are the best ones to hear about!!!

When I was in college, I lived in an off-campus dorm/condo/apt that had the washing machine/dryer in the pantry. It was a little better because there were doors you could shut and forget about all of the dirty laundry. And since it was college, I didn't need a pantry. But yeah...definitely not ideal for a to-buy house.

When I shared a rented townhouse with K, the laundry was in the kitchen, behind folding doors.

It didn't really bother me, but then we both kept our dirty laundry elsewhere. And I kind of like the smell of laundry detergent. Or rather, I like the smell of the stuff I use. :)

But I'm happy to have it in the basement in my house. For one thing, I can leave piles down there if I don't have time to do all of the laundry at once. Couldn't do that at the townhouse.

Who designs these things? Or are they accidents of chance?

The perfect house is out there. I know it!

We are renting a house while we build and it has a laundry room practically in the kitchen and I hate it! If I am doing laundry, I have to stop and move so someone can open the fridge. Grrrr....

Hubby and I found an apartment that we LOVED once. It was built in the late 1800's and had all sorts of cool features (I love old stuff). We were totally sold until I went home and had a nightmare about a mass murder occuring there (I have no idea if it really happened or not). I agree, sometimes you just "know".
