Hi,
I live in Central NJ.
It has sucked, but we have had it so much better than others.
Our power was out until Weds. When we got it back I did a happy dance.
We got our cable back Friday.
Since then I've been bullying my parents to come here. My parents are in their eighties and they do not have power on the 35 degree nights. I am furious at this. They don't have enough gas to wait in the lines to get more gas so they can't come to me. I am worried about them and ask that you think kind thoughts for them.
NJ was far more devistated by the storm than Long Island. There is no reason that the town that was brutally hit--one town away from me--has light and heat and my parents town, which was not brutally hit, does not. This isn't Mother Nature, this is not learning from your mistakes--Hurricaine Irene being one.
That being said, we have been lucky. We all still have our homes and each other.
